Default green plug in frame, above shifter

Did a search and can't find anything. I just bough a 99 sv650, and found a green electrical plug tucked just inside the frame above where the shifter is. Dang i need a digi camera. Anyways, there is a black wire and a white wire coming out of it. They are now spliced together (P.O. work it looks like). I can't see what goes into the other end of the green connector plug thing. Anyone know what this connector is for and why the might have mated the black to the white wire?
Thanks all.

Do you mean on the right side of the bike? That is the starter relay.

Shifter is on the left side...

I think that's the other point where you can disconnect the so-called restricter.
I did mine at the black box.

Yeh, some people make a mistake.

There is a couple of connectors on the left side, cant remember if they are green or black though. I did my TRE mod from the "black box" under the rear seat too.

Could be that a previous owner had a gear counter/indicator on there - just a thought

Just checked it again. My mistake, the wires are 1)black with white tracer and 2)green. They come out of this plug and are spliced together and go no further. I can't see what color wires go into the green plug assembly. but again its a 99, and it is right where the frame Y's forward about a 8 or 10 inches above the shifter....
Thanks for the help so far!!! Tried looking at a wire diagram for a plug with 2 wires of that color coming out, but the diagram I could find on the net was really hard to read.
