Default been caught, cry in beer time

I have just had a phone call from work. I have picked up a speeding ticket. apparently I was doing 39 in a 30 limit when I came round the corner and saw the scamera van. The annoying thing is 6 years ago that road was national speed limit and 3 months ago became a 30mph. It is a damm steep downhill and impossible to do 30 without braking.

no excuse I am overdue as I drive about 40,000 a year and never been caught. (until now) with a bit of luck I may get a driver awareness offer.

Dam, thats harsh. Strange that the road was changed form national speed limit right down to 30mph though; maybe 40mph is more sufficient but what do I know?

I thought i got cought by a GATSO the other week, but it turns out i was doing 33mph on a 40 zone. So who it flashed, I dont know

Annoying. It went down to a 40 because they built a car park off it for the local park and all the mums park up there on the school run. Ironically I think a family friends accident there some time ago is responsible for it being reduced even further. He and his wife were pedestrians when a speeding kid mounted the pavement and struck them both. He had busted legs pelvis, ribs and an arm and went over the wall into the river below. His wife got away lucky with bust legs and ribs.

Just checked on the speed awareness site and it is a fixed penalty for 39 36-38 get a course.

Over the years the sections of speed limited roads have been ever increasing with existing ones lowered. At this rate in the future all single carriage A roads will be 50mph limit.

[BOF mode] When I first put me leg over a bike you only had the 30 limit in towns[/BOF mode]

You want to check that the council went through the correct process to reduce the limit, if they didn't then the road is still the old limit and the ticket is not valid.
Could have sworn I saw a site about it...
