Default And they have the power to take away my license !!

Was driving to Corby from the A14 and for any that knows the route, you will know that the last 5 or 6 miles of road to Corby from the A14 is dual carriageways with varying speeds of national to 40 and 50 mph with cameras.

Anyway now Ive set the scene. I was pootling along at the speed limit and stopped at a roundabout behind a cop car. He too was going towards Corby so I ended up following him for several miles. Now when a cop car approaches from behind on dual carriageway you normally see a lot of people slow down. This duly happened but to my surprise when the copper overtook he didn't indicate once that he intended to change lanes even with me behind him.

as we neared the town centre we came upto a 4 arm roundabout now I wanted to go straight on so didnt indicate and neither did the copper so I assumed he was too. But no as we were half way past the first turn he suddenly turned off then indicated (no blues and twos so no indication he had been put on a call).

It just struck me that this cooper has the power to effectively direct the law of the land to take away my license and there they were driving like an oblivously caged numpty. The very driving which kills and mames bikers every day.

sorry about this but I feel better now that my rant is over.

I see this daily.

As well as police cars speeding (doing 90+ in NSLs). When they're speeding, I'll happily stay a safe distance behind them doing the same speed. If they want to stop me, I'll criticise their driving too.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but they've got more to loose by arguing about it than I have

Treat them like any other car on the road when they don't have blues & two's going. They're all numpties & they're all out to kill us!

Well said,
had one today he put his blues on and was doing 90 easily outside my college, jumping the speedbumps and narrowly avoiding cars and almost hit a few kids...
Fcked up stuff

Had his blues on, so is presumably responding to an emergency. What is speed limit outside your college? What makes you say he was doing 90?

While I don't agree with police flouting traffic law while just driving about or even in the 'course of their duties' (see my other thread) he had blues on and so was allowed to exceed the speed limit.

If you had a switch on your dashboard that made traffic evaporate, could you resist it? Not me, I'm weak!

Lol tiger.
Thing is my friend saw the cops aswell, as Daimo said they turn them off once past traffic,
and my friend saw the lights go off round the corner, and they pulled into the station calmly.

It is messed up.
I say 90 because he was going a hell of a lot faster than my topend allows.

I know lots of coppers and they can't use their blues and twos unless responding to an immediate responce call. If they put them on for any other means they will loose their driving permit and not be allowed to drive police cars.

I assume it is different for all forces - coppers I know are pretty responsible - there are some good ones out there folks.

I've sat behind coppers doing 40 in a 30 limit, and seen them do all sorts of mistakes which would fail them a driving test. My old man also got cut up by a traffic cop when out riding our scooter a while back; he gave chase, and had a word at a junction. Only to be told off by the copper (her colleuge didnt say anything apparently).

If you have the numberplate ID, then perhaps report this copper.
