my K&N had the inner bit removed and my BMC race has the top cut open, not as much as the Race RS though.

If you want more air, just spend the money and get the BMC RS Race and then re-jet the carbs.
Personally I think unless you are running a full system, most will be better leaving their bike alone regards breathing. Spend the money on the bouncy bits ![]() Ben |

Yep, I agree with Ben here... Lots of hassle for not an awful lot of gain. I've got a desnorkelled stock filter somewhere, it works pretty well- not far off as good as the Race RS that I usually use, maybe 2 jet sizes smaller would make it work... But since the real expense/hassle is in the setup, I don't see much point in cutting corners on the filter.
