Default SU 852

I am sat here with a big box with the part number SU 852 on it ...

To the great unwashed (like I was about a week ago ) that's the code for an Ohlins shock for a curvy

Bearing in mind the value of the bike ... I still can't believe I spent that much on a new shock for it ... but it does look smart

Now I have just got to decide which bike to fit it to!!

Look forward to hearing what difference, if any, that it makes.

Having separate high and low speed compression damping (which can be a pain to adjust right as they effect each other) should make a good bit of difference. But theory and practice don't always line up...

Its a 46HRCL, which means it doesn't have separate high and low speed damping adjustment.

Bang in SU 852 into the part no box (then when it opens that page, click on 46HRCL link) for details on shock ohlins

Not 100% sure myself!!! To be fair not many of their range have high and low speed adjustment ... and the ones that do are a lot more than £400

Here, it says on the spring 1091-31/95 L132 .. anyone know what that means in spring rate???

The stock shock for a 99-02 SV650 has 510# (not sure what units the value 510 is in?!? lb/in??).

So making a guess at units/numbers if that means the spring is 95 N/mm???? then it is 542 lb/in .... so it is stiffer than stock?!!?!?

I am a bit surprised and saddened by the lack of adjustment that they provide for the 'lower end' bikes. I wasn't having a go at you - it will probably be perfectly good, but it is a shame it doesn't have all of the adjustments to help you stick to the track...
