Default Selling an Sv650

where is the best place to advertise my bike for sale? I have put it on the for sale section of this site but not expecting much. http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=81711

Im thinking local rag or auto trader next and ebay as a last resort.

Anyone sold 1 recently?? did you get a good price?

Haven't sold one, but a guy at work has just paid £2,500 for an 05 naked in very good condition with 4,020 miles on the clock. It came with a bikini fairing and colour-coded hugger, all standard apart from that.

Hope that gives you some idea of the going rate.

Last resort because I never see any bikes on there go for anything near their true value.

A bike's true value is exactly what someone will pay for it, and Ebay offers just that. Dealerships (aka stealerships) pump up the prices worse than Tesco bloat their chicken breasts purely to maximise profit, they really don't give any clue about true value.

Ebay and Auto/Bike Trader will get you maximum exposure and so a good price, much better than a local rag where only a handful of people will see it.

Good luck fella.

Depends how quick you want to sell it.

£2250 for a very quick sale, to about what you have it on the thread. Waht you have to remember, is that 99% of people on here have an SV, so it would be if a mate wanted one, or a new rider coming on here for information etc.

Auto trader. However, i would take it along to a dealership to see what they would offer. Some GOOD dealerships aint to shabby , and if its close to what you want, its less hassle.

Anyway, WHY ARE YOU SELLING??

Basically selling because I bought the bike when i was working full time and now im a student i'm in desperate need of the money tied up in it.

Think I'll put it on ebay with a reserve of around what you have suggested.

The good think is its totally standard and in mint condition all most of the bikes on ebay seem to be damaged in some way/ been dropped

^ thats the ones that you normally see ending cheap.
but the sellers normally arent that bothered as its gone quick.

make a point of saying that its in immaculate condition, and standard, have high quality bright photos at all angles, with all details listed.

also say that you are selling for said reason.

someone who is truly interested will pay the price you want, but a lot of people are out there to get things as cheap as possible.
