for a while when I fill up with fuel the FI light comes on, usually turn the ignition off and on again and it clears.
Today I parked at a cash machine and had to turn ignition off and on about 6/8 times before it was clear, then pulled into petrol station, and same again. didn`t think it would start. any ideas what is causing this? as I don`t want to get caught out! |

Does the temperature display flah check as well or is it just the light. Bear in mind that this is also your oil pressure light and collant high temperature warning - might be worth checking yourfluids. I apologise now if this is not the case on the SV but that's what ti does on my GSXR

You can enter dealer mode , and get the exact FI error code number.
coombest TPS mod has a guide on how to enter dealer mode http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...&highlight=tps To know what the error code means, you can check The FI diagnosis here: http://www.sv650.org/sv_manuals.htm |

I've seen several posts on this on this and other forums, and there seems to be issue with some of the ignition barrels on the pointy SV's.
I have the same problem where I sometimes have to turn the key a couple of times to get the bike to start. Basically I dont hear the engine priming (fuel pump etc) when the key is turned. Depending on your warranty you might want to get the barrel exchanged. I've been living with this problem for over a year, luckily it doesn't seem to be getting any worse. |

Got a similar issue on my daughter's 2004 SV650, fuel light is always on irrespective of fuel state. Doesn't even flicker, just always on. Unfortunately link to dealer mode doesn't seem to work - I'd appreciate a refreshed link and any hints, thoughts etc Thanks |

6 holes in the connector. 4 of which have metal in. Imagine the connector as 2 columns of 3. Join the 2 metal sockets that have metal in them, and are in the same row as each other (there's only one pair) with wire. Turn the ignition on. Hey presto. |
