I give up on the "Find The Cheapest Tyres" circus.
It's as bad as insurance. So £180 fully fitted Z6's from Strathern. Tax disc arrives soon, tyres saturday morning........YEEHAA!!! So if anyone sees a blue SK3 around Crieff/ Kincardine chances are it's me getting familiar with the bike again. Better check the weather for saturday! Still going if it's raining ![]() Cheers |

I didn't even think to ask about the Stradas.
Everywhere was quoting the same for Z6's and Stradas. At best £1-£2 difference. That's what kind of decided it for me. Thought "eff it! just buy the fecking tyres man!!" ![]() I was getting really fed up with chasing the elusive £140 deal. Cheers |

I just bought a roadtec front for £45, but I'll be fitting it myself... Roadtec 160s just don't seem to be available cheap just now though. I paid £160 fitted to loose wheels the first time, when they were still the undisputed champs, but the price just doesn't drop does it?
I agree though, it's just not worth spending too much time chasing a price cut, I'd be better working an hour's overtime ![]()

Yeah, there's always someone else ready to come along and tell you that they paid 17p for a pair of diablo super corsas. Fitted. I've never found any of these deals; the prices vary by £10-20 or so but that's it. You can get some good deals on unfitted tyres and save some more if you take your own wheels off. For most of us, ride in ride out is easier and so the prices will always be closer to the £200 mark.

Is there any issues with buying new tyres off fleabay? there can be good deals found there if u are patient enough, with people buying the wrong sizes, or bulk clearouts etc.. I got the last pair on my old bike for £45.98, £90 off rrp and C&S Motorcycle Workshop down the road fitted them for next to nothing.

![]() Ebay and online shops are good, but maybe only if you can fit and balance your own tyres... You generally have to pay more to get a shop to fit tyres they didn't sell, and they're generally not delighted to do it either- a big part of their profit is in the tyres. Which is fair enough really... I've got the hardware to do it now, but I'm really just learning... Once I've done a few more sets and I know I can do it safely and without mangling wheels, I'll be happy to fit them for other folks... But not yet.

Stradas are the same tyre...you'd be mad to pay over the odds for z6's IMO
Actually...IIRC cupar mcs have a poster up saying £160 for z6s but my memory might be iffy. get yourself some michelin 2cts. Everyone raving about them Last edited by stuartyboy; 14-03-07 at 11:25 PM. Reason: because I can doh! |
