Hi, a friend of mine who races tiped me off about using contact cleaner on new tyres. The purpose of this is to remove the glossy finish on the tyres that normally takes 100 miles to wear off. He demonstrated it to me and it is an instant improvement, the stuff just wipes clean off onto the cloth and the tyres grip is instantly inproved. Is this a safe method and has anyone else heard of it? Are there any other tricks known to make tyres useable more quickly?
