Got a PCN for "failing to drive in the direction shown by the arrow on a blue sign"
£100 fine (£50 in 14 days) 1) Can they do this? - I know there are signs on all buses saying £100 for bus lane, But I've never heard of this before. 2) This is soo unfair - If I had been stopped by a policeman I would be able to understand the charge and be able to give an explanation (if there was one). But receiving a notice 10 days after the event I have no idea if it was me driving, and if it was I could have been obeying the instruction of a police officer (OK unlikely that the camera operator wouldn't have seen this) or some other perfectly valid excuse. Pleease tell me how I can get out of this. Or find me the person responsible at Camden ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() TIA Last edited by Stu; 21-03-07 at 09:18 PM. |

Eh??
![]() Blue sign with white arrow indicates a one-way street. And I'm sure you would have noticed if you were going the wrong way ![]() I'm sure the penalty for driving the wrong way on a one-way street is more than £100? |

Count yourself lucky you was not stopped by a policeman as failing to comply with a mandatory direction sign would have earned you a £60 fine and then 3 points on your licence as it is endorsable. So paying an extra £40 and having no points seems like a better deal.

Don't think it was a s serious as wrong way on one way street. I'll have to revist the scene of the alledged crime but the only thing springing to mind would be a turning left on a no left turn (but that's not a blue sign

It might have been a keep left or right sign like the ones you get on crossing islands in the middle of the road.

If its a council type ticket then its in the same class as a parking ticket and therefore doesn't go on your driving record, so its like it never happened!!

Got done doing exactly the same manoeuvre along The Highway towards Tower Bridge. Traffic at a stand still and instead of patiently waiting for a gap and riding around an island with the traffic. I decided to ignore the "Keep Left" arrow and ride round the island on the opposite side of the road, basically that was the offence.

Did they give you any photographic evidence? I think that you can request it if they didn't.....of course if they haven't got any they it would be much easier to contest
