Default Hi everyone

Morning All

Just joined the Forum and wanted to say hi After a long break I want to own an SV again. Used to ride a red '99 curvy S followed by a blue S curvy with full Micron n bits n bobs, strayed off the righteous path , been riding a ZZR and a Firestorm but neither felt so 'right' as my old SV's.............so this weekend I'm out looking

Question is, I really fancy a naked Pointy but.... I've a jolly booked for July, down to Santander on the ferry, get lost in the Pyrenees, then a wander up the West Coast of France to St Malo and home.
Do you think a naked would be too breezy for the trip and an 'S' better suited? Or would a bikini fairing suffice? I know it's all down to personal preference but I'd like anyones advice

By the way, great Forum. Think I'm gonna enjoy owning again

Welcome back! I'd definitely go for a pointy S, in fact I did...

Although I've never owner a pointy, I'd go for a naked, better day to day, and bung on a small screen for the trip, two advantages, more comfortable riding position for doing big mileage, second you don't get that nasty front fairing, and can remove the screen when you get back.

but that's just me, I'd probably go for the 1000 as well, just for the more relaxed ride.

Cheers Mark.

Welcome back!

Thew naked is definitely a more comfortable ride witr higher bars and makes slow speed town travel much easier on the arms/back etc. If you want to do err.. lets say more spirited riding, the S would be better, why not get one of each?

Id go with the naked and fit an aftermarket screen like Mark mentioned. Get a decent tank bag to hide behind for the faster bits. Overall comfort for me each time and with avg speeds likely to be close to 40mph I think it would be fine.

Indeed the raptor is a good bike, the engine is really good, with a bit of italian flair (unless you get the V-raptor, that's just wrong, sorry Kitkat if that's the one you have ).

Cheers Mark.

Thanks, bit of reassurance is what I was after. Thanks for the offer KitKat but I really want an SV....plus I can only budget 2k tops so the 1000 is out
