Default Honda 1000 V4

With Honda using the "V" format in Moto GP racing it does make a lot of sense for strong rumours to emerge indicating that 2008 will see the existing "Fireblade" IL4 replaced by a bike with such an engine format.

No doubt it will not be totally leading edge race rep,(as that is not Honda's way) but the quality and attention to detail should see them produce a winning machine. If this does happen then the pressure on Aprilia with their V4 Mille will of course be immense.

Nice to see your English is improving Pedro

Interesting move and one I would welcome the move towards with my wallet of approval. Seems like the move to the V4 configuration in the GP for many of the factory teams maybe the next big thing on the sales front. 800cc would be plenty for most though - although a V4 Tuono could be fun.

There have been rumours of a litre replacement for the VFR for a couple of years now and it would make sense to share an engine used in another model.

Having a single V4 litre block, with liners and longer rods for a sports tourer (less bhp, more torque) could well be on the cards, although one has to say, the current Fireblade is said to be the best road going (read "real world") big sports bike available, so why change...

I think it will be a couple of years yet before we see them.

I thinking Honda main point being missed. They will produce a leading edge 1'000 race rep machine, just not as "raw"as maybe R1 or GSXR. It will not be a made from bits machine but will be employ many features deveoped on track.

Latest Fireblades are superb, but the story is now very old. Unless Honda V4 mille looks a real pig,(highly inlikely) and it is something more than a revvy tourer,,,,,then I be ask Mama I can have one next year.
