They need to apply this thinking to public transport as well!

Shocking. Lucky i have a company car park to park in...dont know what going to happen when we move later this year

Plod already told us this when arguing the toss at Frith Street, a few weeks ago. Pretty outrageous really, but there's nothing we can do.

Could badly affect the sale of scooters I reckon (as rider/commuters' annual costs will be much higher, and the advantage far less), so not such a bad idea after all, then .

tbh i wouldn't object to paying towards bike parking if it meant that a) you could actually find parking b) you had individual bays marked so that your bike didn't get wedged in/scratched to bits and c) there was a rail to chain the bike to. What will P me off tho is if they charge and you don't get the above!!

Also £150/yr seems quite steep - we were paying £70/yr for residents parking on the car in Southfields and you don't have to be a genius to see that a car is quite a bit bigger than a bike.

And i really really hope that they don't come out with some rubbish about the fee only covering you in Westminster and not other boroughs...

You can bet your bottom dollar they will. Each council only allows for its own area, go out of westminster and pay again to park in camden which is also partly in the zone. And how about our new zone friends in kensington&chelsea? They will want some money too if you choose to park in their part of the zone.

And as 1 of the replies on the article says, how/where are you supposed to display tickets on a bike?? Not exactly well thought out buy the powers that be is it. But then it never really is, is it?
