SV gone

Hi - about a month ago I had a prang on the SV and although it was low speed, it was enough to write it off.

Anyway, after a bit of soul searching I decided I would miss biking too much to stop so went looking for a replacement.

To cut a long story short, I've purchased a 02 VTR Firestorm which is a great step up for me. It's a different feel than the SV, not as flickable but more stable and the VTR is a lot quicker at accelerating at 5k+ revs. It suits me down to the ground as the engine is rarely anywhere near being strained (which it occasionally was on the SV) and it lends itself to a much less racy but comfortable ride.

Anyway, I hope this helps anyone who's looking for a change. I'll still visit the site but in the meantime wish all happy and safe riding.

I think it's important that Bud comes along on the 15th to the GM rideout from Box Hill (I think it's been mentioned on this site...) to show off his new toy.

He can be litre competition for sv_dan...

What year Firestorm have you got? Have you got the newer one (with the slightly larger fuel tank,) or have you got the older on with the 'iddy biddy' tank

It's my daughters birthday on Sunday! I'll keep an eye out for the next Box Hill meet and hope to see you then.

It's the larger tank but still need frequent refuelling. I can do about 125 miles between fuel stops which ain't great. I've got the '02 and I think they changed it in '01.
