After all the recent debate about forks and shock upgrades I would like to guage the site opinion about what people think of the SV suspension.
There is the option to select number 3 & 4 if you have done both. Last edited by danf1234; 13-04-07 at 12:28 PM. |

I was perfectly happy with the standard suspension, then I changed the SV for my ZX7 - it was only then that I realised how inferior the standard SV bouncies were to decent fully adjustable kit.

Happy with my set up at the moment, however i think i might change the front fork springs and oil, also set it up correctly for my weight.
Its my first bike so other than the CB500 and CG125 i learnt on i have nothing to compare it against. |

I voted 3 but the guy who owned mine before me had put Ohlins springs and heavier oil in them so i dont really what its like as standard but the way it is now seems ok. I think I need to adjust the rear tho cause it tends to fling me in the air a bit when on the back roads

I voted 2, cos I changed them myself ('other') - Think 3 & 4 are bit extreme.

For pootling and riding while you're still learning suspension is fine, won't let you down. I uprated the front end and the rear shock as it wasn't performing once my ability increased.
It's all personal taste and also rider weight though, the fork springs were too soft for me, and I personally felt the shock was like riding a pogo stick. An upgrade isn't mandatory, as any tweak isn't, I just turned my SV into the bike I wanted it to be, and made it handle as I wanted it to. |

He said he had and seemed fairly honest. Maybe I should get a GSXR front end on just in case

Changed parts only because they where past thier sell by date, and up grade parts where cheaper...thats for the front forks. I still run a std rear shock, and ride the best i can with the gear on the bike.
