Unhappy another c42 thread.

dealer mode showed c42...

I am getting the red flashing light and the flashing FI light on the LCD screen. I stripped and the kill switch but it hasnt made any difference, flicking it on and off sometimes I get the fuel pump to prime but most of the time it doesnt.

when i get it to stop flashing, it seems the fuel pump is not coming on as it wont start.

I cant seem to split any of the 3 connectors infront of the airbox, they look fairly dirty. do they pull up from the top or down from the bottom?

which is the fuel pump relay? is it the one with a fuse either side of it? or the one next to the fuse box?

just did the relay test I think it might have been ok, but its not anymore

I did the test from the haynes manual, connecting it to a battery, it cicked then welded one of the fly leads to the battery terminal, i pulled it off asap, but when I put it back on the bike and did the dealer mode code check I got a C41, which I reckon means i just broke the relay.

But that still doesnt solve my origonal problem.

right so i read this thread:

http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...gnition&page=2

Ive managed to remove the 3 plugs, and have 12V between the orange - black/red wires. The next step of checking the other end, where abouts is the other end? the ignition? or the fuse box??

I have volts from the fuse 3 black/red to ground, and across the wires going into the fuel pump relay. Im going to try and source another relay tomorrow. Im not sure now what to check for? with the results I have, could it be the ignition barrel?

EDIT: 'deleted, totally wrong'

Ok no replies, is that due to not saying: it's a k3 on a 53 plate, pointy, lower
fairings fitted, flush mount indicators with flasher relay, tail tidy, seat cowl, gilles rearsets.

I can't see there being, but can any damage occur from bypassing the fp relay by jioning up the yellow/red wire to the red/White? I can't get a relay until Tuesday, I though this might tell me if the ignition connections are ok?

Just tested the ignition connections and there was resistance between each pair when the key was on, I'm assuming that could be the problem, although the dash lights come on so it can't be totally fubar'd.

Also Suzuki dealer didn't know about the fp relay, tried to sell me a £50 fuel sensor instaed, he said that was all he could find, I wasn't convinced and he let me look at the computer, brought up a pic of the loom and showed him the relay! I was v.pleased with myself! Until he said I'd be £30, I told him I could get one on Tuesday for £6

So still need a fp relay, and possible an ignition barrel, anything else to check?

This is turning into a blog!

ignition switch readings:

0.9ohms between red - orange
0.9ohms between red - brown too, which shouldn't be connected as far as Im aware
106ohms between brown - orange/yellow

they were taken with the ignition on, so its broken right?

so im on the hunt for for a 4 wire ignition, which seems pretty hard to find. I hope it'll fix it!

tell me about it, I searched and read everything, got myself a haynes and have been going from there. I did wonder why I put the question marks in the last post since no one was relying!

It would be helpful if someone could let me know if im on the right track, I understand its difficult to diagnose a problem from my descriptions. Im hunting for a 4 wire ignition switch/barrel atm, but the only one ive found is from a gsxr1100 but the connector doenst look right.
