i am in the market from a new desktop PC.
budget of about 700 quid max. thing is, i dont really understand whats good or not at the moment, i have an AMD1.8 processor, 512 ddr ram, and a radeon9600 graphics card. all i really want to do , is get the tower itself already built, im not bothered about keyboard, mouse, printer, monitor, as i have those already. i use my PC for graphics and video editing, so i already have huge hard drive storage space. authough i wouldnt mind a new monitor, i have a 19inch flatscreen, but wouldnt mind a 22 inch widescreen ![]() can anyone explain what to avoid ? whats good nowdays ? or where to buy one from ? ive learned that PC world are cr*p, so wont be going there, also, dont really want to have the hassle of building a PC, as i dont really know whats what anymore, Cheers Warren |

I bought my compluter from PCWorld in last year's new year sale and not had a problem with it - although I admit I bought it against my better judgment after having problems with almost every purchase from there in the past. I usually have to work hard to get what I want from them and come away with a throbbing head

I got a nice Dell 18 months ago, nice thing was I could specify exactly what I needed, good service too. I have a brand new Dell printer you can have if you go down that route, needs ink but you can have it for the cost of postage.
Stew p.s. the printer only came with enough ink for about 10 sheets of A4 so was retired and replaced with my original Epson. ![]() |

Graphics and Video Editing = Mac
Unfortunately there's nothing really suitable in Apple's range at that price. |

cheers man, thanks and all, but i already have a kick ass lazer printer. i know a mac is a professionals choice, but with a PC, you usually get more power for your money, and everything is cheaper. |
