Default Oil,Filters and Part numbers, Please.

Hi,

I have a slight oil leak from my clutch cover on my sv650s-y which I'm going to fix, so am gathering all the parts. I'll change the oil and filter at the same time.

I think I'll need the following parts,
Clutch cover O ring.
Sump Plug seal.
Oil filter.
Oil

Can anyone tell me the part numbers or sizes/types of ring and seal. Can you recommend a good filter and oil. And anything else I might need to consider.

Cheers.

click on the parts section in the on-line shop

I've been getting my oil and filter from Hein Gericke as they've been doing a deal that gives you 5ltrs of 10/40 semi, oilfilter and airfilter for £24.50. Bargain. However I believe they've stopped that deal now. Bu**er.

The last oil I put in the SV was 5w40 Castrol fully synth stuff (I'll have a look later for the exact type).

Why? Well, I needed oil. Halfords was the only shop open, and this was cheaper than 4 bottles of the 10w40 stuff (only had small bottles).

Technically it's more of a track use oil, but I figure I do high miles anyway. It's more expensive than the normal stuff I used, but I can certainly feel the difference (although, I accept I may be comparing old oil with new). £30.99 buys you 4L.

Oil filter, I got one from the local stealership. £12.something.
