Im recently about to complete a tranaction on a viper race can, it has no baffles or anything, ( probably as its a race can ) lol,
![]() so just a question on the sound it will produce. It is going to draw alot of attention isnt it? can i keep the noise down if i need to? Is it possible to auto sol off the COMPETITION USE ONLY stamp? basicly i want the loud can, but if needs be i want to SHH it up if a rozzer is floating around, can it be done?? maybe by using 6th instead of 3rd if the needs be? |

It'll be acceptable if you're easy on the right hand. Open her up and the beast from within will explode into an ear bursting frenzy

Lyle, you need to master the 'mince' or 'saunter' whilst passing or in view of police peoples. This involves a very light, delicate and smooth operation of the throttle and a nonchalent riding position, as if to say 'me officer? illegal can? not on your nelly, I'm just off to give to charity'

Since fitting the scorpion baffle under the pillion seat, I've found a strange phemonema.
When I'm about to pass a police car, the gearbox plays up, it usually jumps up a couple of gears. I've sat behind (and in front of) a traffic cop without the baffle in the can. I made sure I was at idle, and slowly rolled away using minimal throttle. Nothing was said. |

I had a full racing system on my old SV - a Hindle second hand one off a race bike. That thing was loud! (needed repacking too), one time I was approaching a van full of police and they kindly reversed out of my way!
I have yet to hear a louder SV than Thor's one tbh! Generally, the police don't seem to be that bothered over loud cans. Just avoid accelerating away from them to hard, on the motorway I tend to try and keep a van between me and a police car, lol. |

I purchased a Yoshimura can sticker off of ebay and placed it over the 'not for road use' writing. The can certainly is NOT a yoshi, but it serves a purpose!

I'd be interested to hear it as I haven't heard one louder than me own on an SV yet (completely open twin Renegade race cans)
![]() Personally... I've never had any problem with the cans and the police - I do hold a steady 'bimble' at 3k revs while going past any coppers, but having said that, even when I was stopped/done for speeding last year, the copper said he was there due to complaints from residents of loud traffic noise, yet only gave me a ticket instead of mentioning anything about the open cans, which he definitely saw as he walked around the bike! He was on a police motorbike himself though so would've known full well it wasn't legal - yet said nothing ![]() |
