Hi all,
I bought some second hand HG leathers.....It's a bit of a sqeeeeze to get into them. Not sure wheather to keep of sell them on. This is my first set of leathers and i'm not sure if its just cause its a completely different feel to the textiles or if i'm just a fat b*st*rd....Do they mould to your body shape? I find them quite restrictive around the knees....lifting my legs(treestumps) seems quite an effort and I found after giving them a test ride tonight my riding was poor.....even down to swifting gears.....(not that I have major skills to start with) Not sure, do I keep them and lose a few pounds, or sell them and get something a bit loose fitting. This has been the last straw on the camels back after a very bad week or two at work so cracking open the booze now.....very depressed!!!! Any advice greatly appreciated ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

When you say 'second hand' - how worn/old are they already?
It maybe that they've already stretched as far as they are going to and you'd be better off with something else. If they're fairly new then it could be worth perservering with them. Normally new leathers should be slightly on the tighter side of snug - they then break in to fit. |

they need to be pretty tight, if its loose it can grab your skin in an off. They will loosen up, there are some waxes you can get to speed it up. They're certainly more uncomfortable than leathers - but maybe incentive to lose a few pounds? could do it in a week!

Alternatively, get them adjusted? Mine just wouldn't break in at all so in the end I took them to Nine Lives in Farnborough and basically they just didn't fit me properly. I went back a week later to collect my adjusted leathers and they fit perfectly.

just wear them around the house for a while. do hoovering with them on, lots of bending and stretching and they will loosen off a wee bit. they take a bit of getting used to but do stretch. plus you will get brownie points for doing housework
