busted at 183mph

A South African motorcyclist has been fined R102000 (£7371.10) after he was caught speeding at 183mph in KwaZulu-Natal.
The fine was also set by magistrates for the rider, jan Hendrick, not displaying number plates and riding an unlicensed motorbike. He'll only have to pay R50000 at the moment, but if he commits a similar crime int he next five years, the balance of the fine will then be due.

i'd say that was pretty lucky!

I'd call that plain stupid not lucky

Bloody hell, still a whopping fine., but how did they catch him? Surely he wouldn't have pulled over.

Still, any fine is better than a stretch in one of those South African prisons.

Hmmm, 183mph and Mr Plod jumps out with hand help up and gun in the other. Rider sees Mr Plod and by the time he registers what his eyes are telling him, I would hazard a guess that he would already be half a mile or more up the road. By the time he has brought the vehicle to a stop would probably be at least another half mile up the road. So there he is at the side of the road a mile a way from Mr Plod with the gun, and he stands at the side of the road waiting for Mr Plod to eventually catch up and nail his ass to the proverbial cross Nah I don't think so.
