Default For the Ladies - Please read

OK so for a mostly male environment this is prob not appropriate and mods feel free to get rid of it but:

One of my friends has just been diagnosed with cervical cancer and is awaiting an appointment with the oncologist. She went every three years for her smear test and was unlucky to find that the type she has is agressive and although she had some cells removed at christmas she was told yesterday that this time its more serious. She is 27 years old and was hoping to start a family once she was given the all.

I don't mean to preach but please keep the smear test up to date

as i said before if it not appropriate please remove

Totally appropriate, cancer is such a horrible illness whatever your gender, hope she makes a full recovery.

Good call T. I really hope your friend is OK

I had 2 lots of lazer treatment for dodgy cervix cells a few years ago, so am very glad they were caught early. I can only second what Tara said about keeping up to date with smear tests.

Why, girls are nice

Back on topic however.

Not good news, hope they get it all sorted out and she gets the all clear this time.

As for not being appropriate, try asking BBC about her Gyno visit - its a hoot - especially, if like me, you are eating at the time.............. but thats just what makes her soooooo loveable, consistant inappropriateness.

I'm sure nearly everyone on this site knows or has known someone with cancer so please listen to Tara, there is now a 49% chance of survival if cancer is caught early enough!
Sorry to hear that Tara.
