Default Brake caliper help!!

Just bought a 2000 Curvy (Red) with no MOT, but failure sheet listing rear brake pads( no problem there) and a sticking front brake.

On closer inspection of the front calipers it appears that left and right calipers have different mounting brackets. Does anyone know if they are supposed to be like this????

What seems to be making the brakes stick is the bent over parts of yhe right caliper bracket touching the disk!!! These bits are there to retain the pad in place. On the left side this bracket is different.

Have tried checking on all the microfiches i can find, but they only shoe 1 caliper and its the left one.

Any help with this please guys, and any pics if urs if different would be appreciated for a comparison.

No replies as yet, thought this may be due to photos, so deleted originals and here they are with the bits in question circled.

Tried everything to sort this out, had calipers off removed wheel etc. and still couldn't figure this one out so gave up and bolted it all back together until another day.

Upon completing re-assembly noticed that the tab that was dragging on the disc is now 3-4mm away. Success , not sure why or how.

Don't know whether to be happy that its fixed or sad i don't know how and what was wrong!

Anyone out there had a similar experience?

Sounds like the caliper mounting bolts weren't torqued up. When you put them back on tight it's pulled the carrier away from the disc
