Default Xenon HID

Just put a HID H4 on my TT6.

Only the 6000k version, did not want it to be too blue, does not seem to have too much glare out of the main beam area. Im trialing it for a while, it was cheep because its the old style of fitting where there is a HID for low-beam and a halogen for high beam, bit slow on lighting up though, just easier to have it on low-beam all the time. Lucky i only need the one.

Very tight fit as there is nowhere to bolt the balast to on the front of the TT, but after a little looking i found a small space just between the clocks and screen, its also safe from little fingers.

If I ever get a single headlight bike I will try & get that. Saw it on someone's bike & was very effective.

Just remember that according to one of the many acts/laws, its illegal to fit a HID system to a unit that has not been designed for it. But hey, whens that stopped us?

I'd like HID on my Sv, and almost got that system earlier in the year. Would need to be Bi-Xenon on the SV though

That should still be quite blue, no? Tungsten filaments are 3200k, daylight is only 5600k, so 6000 should be significantly bluer than standard.

Saw a GSX-R1000 with an aftermarket HID system at the weekend. Even in daytime it was far too bright. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was exactly the same as looking at an unfiltered welding light. Other people I was with commented the same, one said he could only see people's silhouttes for a few seconds after looking at it, as the centre of his vision was filled with the after image of the light.

So, on the one hand, potentially dangerous retinal damage to any poor sod who looks at it, on the other, SMIDSY will be increasingly hard to believe.

Yeh, blueish, but not the 8000k or 10000k that some peeps put on their cars.

I wanted the 4300k one but this came up first.
