Unhappy No Power

I have a 2006 SV650s I ride it to work everyday. (roughly 40 miles round trip) The bike has 2400mile on it. Anyway I rode home in the rain the other day and the bike was running great until i pulled off the highway, Thats when it lost power and died. I restarted it idles real low, kind of bogs out a little, no power at all hardly, if you flick the throttle it dies. This was two days ago, since then i've checked the air filter, drained all the gas out, put fresh gas and added fuel injection cleaner.....did not fix my problem. PLEASE HELP! I can crank the bike it idles really low but will stay running as long as i do not touch the throttle, any advice?

Check for water in the spark plugs.
Plenty of threads on here if you do a search.

ive had the same thing... problem lies in the front spark plug... commomn fault with the sv twin engine water always finds it way down the spark plug seal. either try a replacment cap or get a front extension on your mudguard.. or aviod wet weather ha ha!!

If it is the front cylinder cutting out when wet a quick and easy cure is Northwind's patented solution, which I used. Go to Maplin electronics and buy a tube of silicone grease (about £3). Pull off your plug cap and liberally grease up the rubber bung bit - silicone grease will seal it and is water repellant.

Today I rode through a flooded dip that I spotted a bit late so was going a bit quick. The bottom half of the bike, and my legs, were absolutley soaked. Felt like ten hosepipes hitting my legs at once. The engine, however, never missed a beat.

Thanks to all for the tips! i pulled the plug cap and emptied some WD40 in till it ran out the drain hole, Q-tips fit that hole perfect. Put it all back together and bike is back up to 100%. great tips on remeding the prob too.
