Jobs for the Boys.

A Home Office review has just stated that Immigration Officers should wear uniforms with 'Softer Colours' when deporting families.
Now if this is not bad enough in itself, why on earth does there have to be an official review into such things?
Perhaps so that the Government can create totally unnecessary jobs for 'Civil Servants'

Having seen the end of the deportation procedure in Dubai, where the people to go are marched through the airport in chains 2 abreast about 10 deep clutching their world in a carrier bag and all limping holding heads, arms, ribs from the final reminder not to come back. I am now of the opinion we are already far too soft.

Then again if we were not a soft touch for the worlds ner do wells they wouldn't be here in the first place.

And before the Tims a racist starts. I actually support immigration, but within boundaries. We need educated highly skilled professionals. Not the worlds flotsum & jetsum as we already have enough home grown.

I reckon they should wear military uniforms, or get us military to do it.

Interesting idea - but it begs the question how do you know which ones will work?

My suggested answer would be: Expand the camps and turn them into labour camps. People can stay in them as long as they like so long as they are earning their keep. Over time they can be assessed as to whether they have earned the right and the necessary skills (spoken English)to move from the camp into society. Once in society they then have to continue to work and so long as they do so they can stay in that position. Again over time and against assessment they can apply for citizenship and the right to a passport - which is apparently so valuble the effort to get it should seem reasonable. Some might argue this would be a form of slavery, I think it's just an economic and practical way to approach the issue.

Just to fan the flames I'll get my big wooden spoon out and start stirring.

My last boss ran his own company, giving jobs to a couple of hundred brits and directly and indirectly contributing lots of tax income to the country. He was born here. His parents on the other hand, arrived here in the 60s, unskilled and penniless seeking asylum; they were doubtless a drain on the system for quite some time. On the other hand, if they hadn't of gotten in, their son wouldn't have been able to start a succesful company keeping a couple of hundred brits in decent highly skilled jobs.
