Hi and welcome aboard. I think it doesn't have much to to with an SV as drain covers are not a good thing to be riding over anyway. As long as it feels fine on normal road surfaces you should be fine. What condition of the tyres? I have pretty good tyres on mine and whenever I ride over these strange surfaces and I'm not sure what they are for but they are sort of pale yellow and have sort of ridges on them and I notice them coming off certain roundabouts anyway I get a very uneasy feeling. Does anyone else know this sort of surface I'm talking about? It's really annoying
