Smile Greetings and a question

Hello SV650 peeps. Another forum I frequent has a long standing tradition whereby n00bs get a round in, so fill yer boots first of all...

...and now that you're suitably refreshed, can you tell me if you think i'm too tall for an SV (6ft in my socks). I've never ridden one, but I wonder if it'll feel a bit cramped after my big trailie. I think the seat height of the unfaired version is a bit bigger than the SV650S, but have you SV650 owners with longer legs found this to be an issue one way or the other?

Reassure me on this score, as i'm going to have a look at one tomorrow and i'd hate to have any heightist preconceptions confirmed when I climb on board.

Hey there.

Welcome to the site. I don't think you'll have a problem. I'm 6 foot 2 in socks and I've been riding a 2002 SV650S (curvey) for over two years. I don't find it cramped at all and it can be a comfy crusier depending on your mood. Hope this helps.

Hi there & welcome from up north,

184 cm in my socks and find the Curvy S fine, I've done 500miles + days on it, and find after the first couple of trips you soon adapt. The weight on the wrist in town/slow speed after a trailie may take a bit of getting used to but you should be fine in the end.

Welcome Foul Lurker of the Threshold!

Nah, at 6ft you should be fine. I'm almost 6'2" and have no problems on it and there are people 6'3"/6'4" here who ride SVs for reasonably high mileages.

And then there's people like Bear...

EDIT: Where are my manners? Ah yes, they've rolled off the table and are laying right next to my mind, in the gutter. Welcome to the house that is mad young Yog-Sothoth.

Young? Must be a side-effect of the Viagra...

Thanks all, for putting my mind at ease - subject to a decent test ride, I should be a full member of the owners club soon.

Buuurrrrrp I'm still thursty welcome to the looney bin. Some people say 6ft is when it starts to cramped while other 6'2"'s think it's fine. I wouldn't know I'm 5'10" in socks and it's great but then I had a '93 gixer back in the day and it fealt like my knees were touchin my ears, SV's are nice.
