Default Yay!! Got me a new job

Finally I can get off the road full time!

Had a row with the boss on Friday and went home until he sorted out the problem.

An hour and a half later I had sorted out an interview with a different company.

Monday am pop in to have an informal chat with the boss of new company.

Monday pm get a call from Nick (New co. boss) saying he wants me! Ooh err!

Tuesday am pop in to see Nick to sort out money etc.

Tuesday afternoon tell my current boss I'm leaving.

Tuesday a bit later phone Nick to say yes!

July 23rd Start new job!

So now that I'm not (nearly) a courier any more I can go back to enjoying my biking instead of not wanting to ride at the weekend!

So as of 23rd I will be sitting in an office controlling other couriers. The power I will have! Bwahhhaaahaaaa!

A happy bunny I am!

Money's not great to start but it will improve.

The problem with trying to become a (fat) controller is that most companies look for controlling experience, but you can't get experience as they are looking for experience. If you know what I mean.
The new co. were offering a position with no experience needed!

At least now when I get a call saying "Want to go for a rideout this weekend?" I can say "Yes!" instead of "F**k off, I've already done 1000+ miles this week and don't want to see another bike never mind ride one!"

You may not have the experience 'in post' as it were, but you have the more important experience of being on the other end - as a courier and being the one 'controlled'.
That, if nothing else, will give you important pointers on everything you've ever complained about regarding a controller... and therefore what to avoid doing.

Um... did any of that make sense?

Either way - congrats.

I don't know whether to be complimented or worried.
