Any you mad eejits buy a bike this year and get the £99 insurance offer from Suzuki?
Just wondering what the cover is and what happens after the year up. Does it rocket. Are there limitations of age. Will they give it to you if you've had a claim? |

Thought it finished end of April? It on again?
It was 25 with garage - you'll earn a year's NCB plus be a year older so ins. should be less than quotes you're getting now. |

Its fully comp cover. Understand the excess is £500. Its been extended till September. Same cover as you would get if you bought the policy.

From the Suzuki GB website:
1 Years Comprehensive Insurance is available from £99. Policy is subject to insurers underwriting criteria. Full details are available upon request. To qualify Insured Riders must be aged 25 - 69, must hold a full motorcycle licence and motorcycle must be parked in a brick garage at home address. Policy is restricted to Insured only. A compulsory excess of £500 applies, this insurance offer is subject to eligibility, terms & conditions and subject to availability for machines privately registered between 1st April 2007 and 30th September 2007. Insurance is provided through Express Insurance Service Limited, Express House, 22 Old Walshall Road, Hamstead, Birmingham B42 1DT. Authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority. Promotion ends 30th September 2007. This is the offer if you purchase a GSXR600. I would point out that it says "FROM £99" ... so I guess that firstly you have to meet the criteria (age 25 - 69, and bike parked in a "brick garage at home address", full bike licence). Reading between the lines ... if you have any convictions/accidents then I doubt they'd give you the insurance for £99, but someone prove me wrong ![]() As pointed out previously also ... IMHO the excess is a bit steep at £500! Pete |

I've just taken out this insurance for £99 on my new GSX-R600. I'm 25 so just about qualified for it. Excess is £500 but they weren't bothered about my (no-fault) claim that I had in October 2005. There was an option for about an extra £30 to have legal cover and to bring the excess down to £250 in the event of an accident.
Muffles got discounted insurance on the same policy - he didn't quite qualify for the £99 because of no garage IIRC. The standard policy includes use abroad for up to 30 days at a time, pillion riders, use of other bikes 3rd party so pretty standard really, not as many restictions as I thought there would be. I'm not sure what happens next year, just got to keep my fingers crossed it doesn't go through the roof! I'm a bit wary of making the mods to the bike that I'd like in case it makes the insurance unmanageable next year (new exhaust, levers, rearsets). All in all, I can't complain, just touch wood I won't have to use the policy! ![]() Cheers, Matt |
