Default Chain mistake

I just spent Sunday tidying up my 650S (nakedised, black, GSXR suspension).

Thoght I would finish with the chain so I took the bike for a quick blast, got the chain warm, grabbed the chain wax and sprayed. Ooops, wrong can. WD40.

What should I do? I have wiped off as much as I can. Should I just take it for another quick ride and hope most gets thrown off then wax it? Or do I need to take the chain (OE, O ring I think) off clean it properly and then start from scratch. I am imagining that the WD40 will have got past the O rings and dissolved whatever lube is being kept inside there by the o rings. The chain is about 2000 miles old from new as is the bike.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Don't worry, it'll be fine. Wipe it and then spray with proper chain lube.

I'm sure it'll be fine, wont do any more harm than salty puddle water that gets thrown over it this time of year.
Just wipe it off and squirt some chain lube on.

Yup. Lots of people use WD to clean the chain anyway

Hey maybe that's a blessing in disguise. I spray WD40 first, wipe, oil the chain using a split piece of foam soaked in oil (so the chain gets sandwiched between the slit) and run that along the chain several times, take the bike around the block, dirty my jeans some more, then spray chain wax.
