Default laptop memory - aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

So many types/specs. How do i know if i'm getting the right memory for mine??? Where is cheapest would be good to know too.

Laptop is an Acer Aspire 3004WLMi with the standard 512MB DDR. I dont know if its currently got one module or two inside - never taken it apart to see. Obviously if its two i need to fork out for the Gig strip anyway.

I want to upgrade to 1GB. Or maybe at a push 2GB (the max it can take), if funds allow.

Heeeeelp!

The best website without a doubt is here...... http://www.crucial.com/uk/?gclid=CNr...FQTUlAodOGhitw

They even have a program you can download and it will check your system, tell you the memory you need and then removes the program.

I've used them loads and always deliver quickly and on time plus they are the cheapest.

Hope it helps.

Yep they are top on memory suppliers, if you buy memory listed for your comp and it does not work then they will take it back. Top peeps and next day delivery usually.

Thanks folks, youve just saved me a small fortune. It was gonna be £164 for 2GB. Crucial has it for £120!

That'll pay for the bike MOT, and a couple of tanks of fuel.

Nice one.
