Would you like those lubricating sir?

I found out to my amazement a few weeks ago that metal press studs are 'supposed' to be lubricated (oiled) no really! Is it just me & the wife that have never heard of this or are you suffering from a bout of disbelief also?

The acquisition of this knowledge came about after buying a Richa textile jacket. That same day one of the studs on the jacket broke off so back to the shop I go. The guy in the shop asks if I had lubricated the studs prior to wearing the jacket and I was gobsmacked. "You are joking" I asked, "Nope...it says on their web site you must lube your studs." says the shop dude!

He lubed them with leather restorer oil and says its as good as anything so thats what I use.
I have now gone through my wardrobe lubing every press stud in sight.

It makes sense when you think about it to lube metal to metal parts but clothing studs?? You learn something new every day!
