Default yellow curvy down

evening all...had an off tonight on the a40 just outside euston.

lost the front end and me and bike went sliding into the back of a minicab. no real injuries for me thank God, that'll be the proper kit doing its job. can't remember what made me lose the front end, it just went during a turn that i've done a thousand times. can't remember the exact speed but nothing stupid as i was joining a busy road - had to have been around the 30 mark. can't believe i got away so lightly, there were heaps of cars around me yet they all avoided me. when the front end slipped i truly did think 'sh+t, this is it...'.

the minicab driver and his 4 passengers were great, called an ambulance as i was lolling about on the ground in a daze and made sure i was ok. big thanks to the ambulance and coppers who attended the scene too.

my poor sv didn't fare so well - smashed front fairings, gear shift assembly is hanging by the con rod and various smashed plastic bits too. thankfully i went down on the left side so the fuel exhaust i put on a while back is fine. not sure if the forks are straight though.

anyway, all's well that ends well.

Ouch. Hope you're not too sore today. Funnily enough my Fuel can was the only thing to come out unscathed when the SV got written off the other month. It now takes pride of place in the dining room!

Nasty. Bike is just a lump of metal - at least you are ok to fight another day. Had a near miss coming back from Lynham to Chippenham on the twisty bit, front end slid away but fortunately caught again. Threw me about the bike a bit but stayed on and kept going. Amazing cure for constipation!!

Hope you get the bike repaired ok. Whilst you're on you could get it resprayed!!

the yellow curvy will be resurrected in its old colour! ('tis the best colour after all)

i'm feeling sore as hell today and have just been sent home from work as i'm a bit spaced. think a visit to the hospital for a check out is in order.

still can't think how i lost the front wheel.....

Wise choice about the hospital!! You will prob never know for sure how the wheel went. Don't beat yourself up about it that's biking

Mate it will have just been some gravel or dirt or diesel, don't fret yourself over it. I almost lost my front end on some gravel on a roundabout where they were resurfacing, its just part of biking. Hope you are not too hurt and that you get everyhting fixed asap.

Bad luck.
It wasn't Eversholt St was it?Some of the potholes are so deep you need guidance from a mountain goat.
