Default Starting problem.

I have not had the SV for that long and have now started using it every day. I have one issue with starting it however. When I turn the ignition on, I wait 'til the fuel light goes off then pull in the clutch and press the start button. Most of the time the bike starts no problem as soon as I touch the button. Recently however sometimes, when I press the button, absolutely nothing happens, no noises or anything at all. If I turn the ignition off and back on again it will start, sometimes takes more than one try however.

Has anyone got any ideas what's causing this or am I doing something stupid!

It's a curvy if that makes any difference.

it could be the kill switch on the clutch lever sticking, pull the clutch in and out a few times and it should start. You can bridge over this switch, take it off and clean it or buy a new one.

Cheers Tim.

Is there anything against shorting it out providing you always ensure it's in neutral anyway?

Not that I'm aware of. I think some people just jam a wire/paperclip in! I'm sure they'll be along shortly to explain.

I did as above only I've kept the original switch gear . Just clip the wires and join them together . By-pass the switch .
