hey guys, long time no speak!
as most of you know my bike died on me around 2 months ago now, just found out aprilia wont do the warrenty work - didnt even give me a reason! i was "f"ing and blinding when my dealers told me this and they said the best they can do is to fit someone elses engine in my bike that has a few thousand less miles for around £400.... id rather have the warrenty work done, but its saving me money on rebuilding the bike if get the 50 lump fitted. im gona be gettin a new bike for sure now, so will see what i can get for my bike and then SV is a most likely gona be happening unless i get a SRAD. |

Won't the 'someone else' be pi**ed off that you have their engine?
![]() Seriously though, the dealers must be able to give a valid reason why they will not honour the warranty. ![]() |

Any race rep 125 or even 50 goes bang at some stage....you just have to accept that when you buy one.
As Steve said above, they must have a valid reason to refuse to honour its warranty. Have you tuned/modified it in anyway....quite often this invalidates the warranty.Have all services intervals been met? Has the bike been crashed/damaged? In my experience, Italian manufactures are fine with warranties as long as you satisfy the requirements. They will take forever to get it sorted though. How many miles has the engine done...a 125 needs to be rebuit every few thousand and i imagine a 50 might last for even less time. People on the forum might be able to offer you some advice but you will need to elaborate on what you have already posted. You will also probably have more luck on a 2-stroke forum. |
