Default Insurance payout

I've been offered £3400, Now I've been told never to accept the first offer, but this is quite high considering the bike was £3,995 new and it was 1 and a 1/2 years old when I crashed. Tell me what you think?

Doesn't sound too bad to me, but you could try pushing for more anyway. You've nowt to loose.

Sold it for £2800, so I'm quite pleased with the offer. No excess to pay either, well I pay it, but then claim it back through the excess insurance (was an added extra for £20). I was hoping to get partial blame, but realistically I knew I'd get full blame in the end.

I would say £3400 is pretty good then! Certainly you could replace your bike like for like with that amount, which I understand is the idea.

I reckon take it. (And that'll be £0.02 for my opinion.)

The second & (final) third offers are not necessarily more than the first offer.

I'd seriously contemplate the £3400.

Seems a good offer. Is that the net amount, or is the excess still to come off?
