Default Brake lever adjustment

Hi All

sorry if this is obvious but I'm a newbie. When I brake moderately with two fingers I start to press the lever against the remaining fingers on my hand, what do I need to adjust to stop this?

I've tried the fierrent settings on the dial on the lever but no joy.

Thanks

If by this you mean that you've tried settings 1-5 (or whatever the lever has) on the brake lever itself then that is all the adjustment you should need. If the lever is coming back too far on setting 1 (IIRC this is the setting which brings the lever furthest from the bar), then you may need to look at the following:

1) Is the brake lever bent?
2) Do the brakes feel squidgy? (May have air in the system that needs bleeding out)
3) If you pump the lever a few times does this get better? (May be a sticking caliper piston / seal, or air in system)

None of the above are difficult to recitify

Use all 4 fingers, therefore reducing/eliminating the squishy finger issue

Hope this helps

Provided there is a little fluid in the reservoir (or even in the connecting pipe) and the master cylinder seals never meet air while travelling back and forth, this should make no difference at all. I don't really suggest letting your fluid get this low though
