Default Nurburgring 2007.

nb: Edited to alter dates.

Due to a change in the amount of holidays/time to organise everything then I'm going to change the format of the trip back to the same one I have organised for the last two years.

So.... (shamelessly ripped from last years message, and the years before ....)

Fancy a 3 day trip to Europe (5 countries!) including riding the Nurburgring?
(France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Luxemburg)

The trip will be...

Saturday afternoon meet up.
Crossing from Dover to Calais

Saturday - visit the Bikers loft in Ostend for a variety of Belgium beers and good entertainment. see here

Sunday - Ride to the Ardennes in Belgium and the village of Moulin du Ruy, Stoumont. Check into the B&B See here
Few sociable beers

Monday lunch, accompanied by an English Nurburgring instructor, make our way to Germany (~90 mins) for 5 laps of the world famous course and hopefully back to Belgium for a few beers and conversation about what a thrill it was and how crap the Porsche/Ferrari/Lamborghini drivers were and how the humble SV gives you more bang for your buck

Tuesday ride back to Calais for an afternoon ferry back to Dover.

Cost to be... (approx)

~£50 Return Ferry
~£55 5 laps Nurburgring (€80)
~£15 Escorting at/to Nurburgring (€20)
~£20 Bike loft in Ostend (€30)

So that's a total of about £140 for a great weekend

Prices include breakfasts in accommodation but exclude petrol and other meals and are based on people sharing accommodation..

I reckon for the mileage we are doing in the continent it wont be more than £60 (based on English fuel prices).

Call it £10 a day for meals and you would be looking at about £250 all in plus your fuel to and from Dover (plus beer money). Bargain? I think so!

Anyone else interested? please PM me if you are I need to confirm numbers asap and space is limited.

All I need is £20 to cover the deposit for accommodation.

Weekend will be Sat 21st July - Tue 24th July 2007.

Unfortunately the problem is finding a day that has early opening.

Any other friday that month(*) doesn't open till 5:30pm by which time all the English are over and it's too busy, and trying to balance it with a chance of good weather.

The other option is to do it in reverse.
So we go over on a saturday and stay at the biker loft, Sunday go to the Ardennes do the ring on a monday and then back on a Tuesday? 21st-24th July?

Let me know your thoughts. I'm happy to organise whichever is the most popular.

(*) It is open early friday 13th but I thought that was just asking to crash

Put me down for it. I can pay whenever (can afford the deposit now anyway).

Am selling my bike at the moment but by July I'll have 'something'. Not fussed on a date myself.

If numbers are too high, I would be willing to forfeit my position incase someone who has been before/is friends with the organiser. I have to say though, that doesn't mean I am not interested! Trip sounds ace.

Mwhahaha this seems to have dragged me from my depressive hole :P

What month you planning this...I have to say im VERY intrested in it but in 6 days I become unemployed so everything will become hazy however if i know dates (maybe im blind or just plain drunk and cant see it) I can work around to make sure i have the time and money

Ignour, see its july. I dont know plans around then. I will get back to you sooner to the date so that means dont bother booking anything in my name but if i cant come I'll sort something to join you

Oh hell yeah, I'm in again.

Need to actually get my passport renewed for this one though as it ran out last month, and who knows, I may actually be back on two legs by then.

I can heartily recommend this trip to anyone, but espescially a 'Ring' first-timer. Being taken round by the instructor made it a piece of cake. You really get to enjoy the ride and not be overly concerned with anyone else, just follow his line and you won't go far wrong.
The roads there and back were awesome too.

Rich's (Courdelion) organisation also makes the journey there and back a pleasure and remarkably stress free.

If you're on a budget, start saving now - I am (being forever skint) - that way when it rolls around it's already paid for.
Likewise, most new employers will honour existing holiday plans - so take the chance. After all - it's only a long weekend - but it's one hell of a long weekend.
