Hi,
Wrote a long post out but I got caught out by the forum backup thing, *******! Anyway, can anyone tell me a good workshop to take my SV to to spend abit of money servicing it and getting it all nice etc. I need someone who works fast and doesn't charge much! But thats about as possible as me getting a Harley so anywhere that you have had a good experience with and works at £30 an hour or less please post up and share the wealth! Cheers! |

Dyrons - York Road. Main dealer and not entirely sure what the labour rate is but I found them to be really good. 7500 mile service was £140. I've also heard the lads down at Colin Appleyards are pretty good. Regent Street/ Harehills Lane(?).

Yeah I know both those places, I think Dyrons is about £40 an hour, not sure though. I know someone who works at Appleyards so I might give them a try, and yeah its Regent street or thereabouts.
Any other ones anyone knows about? I prefer the smaller ones as I want someone who I can keep going to all the time and get to know and trust etc. Has anyone been to Jordans? I wanna put it on the Dyno see if theres owt wrong with it, how much is a run? |

Try KP Motorcycles, Compton Road, Leeds 9. Really good mechanic. Been around since 70's. A lot of the main dealers use him. Ask for Kevin and tell him Derek recommended him. Also does MOT's and recovery.

I had my curvy into Jordans at the end of Gelderd Road for a new set of tyres (Z6's), acumen alarm and MOT a while back. Don't know what price servicing was from them but I got a good price on the tyres and alarm compared with other places I rang or checked on the interweb. And they popped on the new front sprocket I had I as I was too weedy to remove the old one.

Well if it's upgraded forks you want, I could swop you your tired old ones, with a bit of cash, for my spare upgraded ones (racetech springs, 15w oil and pre- load adjusters). Unless it's emulators you're want fitted?
Do you need the brakes stripped, cleaned and re-greased. or is there something that needs fixing. I can clean the carbs and fit a stage 1 DJ kit, which I have if you want it. Plus the usual plugs, oil and filters. Lube cables and check things over. PM for price. |

If you have a garage or somewhere off the road to work on the bike you could always ask if one of us helpful folks on here would be willing to lend a bit of their time and help you out while you do the work yourself......there's not much to servicing a bike as simple as the sv and you'll save a packet in the long run learning to do the simple stuff yourself. I'd be willing to help you out if you could wait until the early part of sept, got some hol's to get in before then.

Wow cheers guys thats really helpful
![]() As for the springs I have some Ohlins ones that I need jamming in there, I have the oil for it and stuff! I just want my brakes to be really good as there is braided lines on the front but they still don't feel that responsive! Will send a PM now! As for the place to work I really appreciate your kind offer but I don't want to put you out, any help you can give me by posting is good enough, cheers! ![]() |
