Default Quandary

It says on this BBC web page that methane is a greenhouse gas, produced in rice paddy fields. Well I didn't know that, did you?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/h...greenhouse.stm

So as a liberal I have a problem. Do I eat more rice to help third world farmers but increase global warming, or do I stop eating rice to save the planet?

Or do I continue to reject all this climate change theorising and carry on as before?

Hmm, decisions...

Our bovine friends produce more methane than anything else.!

Won't stop me eating beef and wearing leather though.

I would promote a balanced diet. Make sure you eat beef from a different region to your rice. This will stop the build up being in juts one area

Do that, i will be.

I belive that we have just speed up the earths natural cycle of heating and cooling, not drastically changed the climate forever.

Methane - a greenhouse gas way more potent than CO2. Just beginning to be recognised as such. Where does it come from? Decaying organic matter, by anerobic decomposition.
