I've got a cheapo Lidl back protector which has very thin shoulder straps and they cut into my chest
![]() Can anyone recommend one with decent padded shoulder straps? Don't mind paying extra for a good comfy one. Will have to get it off t'internet so relying on recommendations ![]() Cheers in advance, Nick |

This is mine. Comfortable, and very easy to get on as it is just like a coat with no sleeves. Tried on other back protectors where the straps are a bit of a nuisence. You also get some rib protection.
Bought it from fc-moto (click) for €159 or £110 - so it isnt the cheapest around but I like it. I'm not saying its the best out there in terms of protection, but because it is so easy to put on etc I always wear it.

I have a Stowaway and whilst it has straps I have never had the slightest bit of discomfort even with just a thin t-shirt on underneath. Although it is designed to roll up quite small it is quite bulky under your jacket so whether it would fit underneath is another matter. That could be a problem with any protector you buy though.

Mine fits under my textile jacket which is deliberately a size too large so I can wear loads of clothes underneath in the winter.
It won't fit under my touring leathers and has no chance of going in my one piece! I got the alpinstars insert type protector for that and it is a real fiddle getting it in and zip the front up! I had to go on a diet so that I could breath with it zipped up and I was in very good shape already but needed to be truly athletically built! If I had bought the larger sized alpinestars one piece to accomodate the protector better then it would have been too baggy around the backside and legs. |

Cheers for the replies.. I guess the best way is to try a few on. Going to try a Forcefield one and see if thats any better. Don't really want a full on vest type just something more comfortable than the lidl jobbie..
Jon - I do have an Alpinestars thing at the mo but not fussed which make it is, just want one that don't hurt! |
