Default Cold Callers

I just got cold called and I dont like the latest tactics.

Normally I have an image of an unhappy person sitting in an office somewhere else in some third world county with a monotone voice and annoying accent.

Today it sounded like Marieke from the Netherlands. I had this image of some beautiful 6ft blonde dutch girl smiling away at me down the phoneline asking if I wanted to join AOL.... and it was so tough this time to say no just go away.

Says alot about perception and how clever these companies are getting. The reality is it was probably the same person as before that had been accent trained.

Ask her if she has any sisters living in UK with loose morals and a penchant for leather clad men. Just a thought.

Best thing to do with cold callers is to be really positive about what they're selling and sound like you're ready to do it, then say no at the last minute. If you listen really carefully you can pinpoint the exact moment that their dreams of a new car get shattered...

TPS (not the bike sort!) gets rid of cold callers whatever their ethnicity or gender. Take the decision out of your own hands by registering with them.

What you need is a telemarkter counter stript....

I've used this a couple of times and got quite far with one girl, until she twigged it was a script.

That looks fun ... I've also seen/heard one where some guy pretends to be a US detective ... goes something along the lines of:

Caller: "Hi, are you the homeowner?"
Homeowner: "No"
Caller: "Is the homeowner there?"
Homeowner: "Can I ask how you know the homeowner?"
Caller: "Errr, I was just calling about some business, is the homeowner there?"
Homeowner: "Please can you be a little more specific about your business dealings with the Mr/Mrs Homeowner?"
Caller: "I'm sorry but that's confidential information between the homeowner and my company"
Homeowner: "Oh right ... hang on, please don't hang up ... [moves phone away from mouth and shouts away from the phone "Make sure you get pictures of the blood spatter pattern as well as the body", and then back to phone] ... ok you still there sir/miss? Now please can you tell me more about your relationship with the deceased?"

... it's so funny ... any normal cold-caller would have WELL AND TRULY hung up by now, but this drags on and on LMAO I did!

sweeet!

anyone got anything else funny to say?

on an similar note surely if they call you they are entering into a conversation of THEIR freewill to be spoken to how ever you feel like? i mean its a personal private call right?

also couldnt you always say summit like , hi there thank for attending you preordaned verbal court hearing for the brutal murder of 3 young children, i hear you plead guilty for on the 3 counts of manslaughter, judge.... presiding had reviewed your case and finds you guilty with a charge of life imprisonment. pleae remain still as the police will be arriving shortly to take you into custody. and failure to cooperate will result in death on site....

Register with TPS as suggestd stops it dead. If you do get one and you are registered, then complain and the tele marketing company get into big big trouble over it.
