A colleague has just offered me the keys to his R1 for a lunghtime spin, I have only been driving my SV for just under a year and am worried that I might not have the skills.
On the other hand I really want to see what it is like....... What to do? |

As long as you have insurance then yes try it out. But be prepared for a shock and that when you get back on your SV it will feel as slow as a slow thing thats very slow.
As long as you have some self restraint and dont get on it and the first thing you do is give it a big handfull of throttle you'll be fine. You'll find it'll be amazingly responsive in the lower gears and you wont be ready for it so just take it steady.

Yeah I checked my insurance and I'm covered, I was actually kind of hoping they might say no. Then the decision would've been made for me.
It's an old W (I think) Reg one. I'm also worried that it will push me back into wanting a GSXR again.......... |

Heros buy these for first bikes so I'm sure you will be fine.
Even if you dont feel confident enough to give it some beans around some twisty, find a nice straight. |
