its gore tex so at least its 100% waterproof

It does appear to be a woman's jacket, yes. So provided you're not averse to a little cross dressing, it will probably do you fine. Goretex is good, and Dainese are a quality brand- though they've got a bit of a thing for leathers that burst open on the seams. Check the armour's OK visually, s what I'd do, and if you don't like it get a better photo and description and sell it for a profit.

I thought it would have to be treated first? Or is it just an intrinsic property of gor-tex, that its waterproof?

Ha ha, yeah I'm aware it's a ladies jacket cheers it's not for me, I saw it with only a few mins to go and was cheap so thought I'd take the gamble!

Gore-tex is a membrane that has pores in it - they are big enough to allow steam thru (i.e. sweat) but to small to allow water drops thru.

As it is classed as 'breathable' you really do not want to coat the jacket with any other product as you'll just sweat like a pickled onion inside.

Yup, which is why I still get a damp bum- the gel seat soaks up teh water like a sponge, my hot posterior warms it, it steams up, and then the vapour can pass through the goretex. Took me ages to work that one out, I was all set to call Rukka out for shoddy work but it's the seat that does it.
