Things like Crash helmets and pillows. 2 of the items, that you dont know are going to be any good until you use them, but then cant take them back. I think its wrong!!
Pillows. How do you know if youa re going to find them comfortable? There isnt a bed in the shop to try them out on, and usualy they are vaccum packed so you cant even have a feel!! Yet you cant take them back due to Hygene reasons! Crash helmets. They may be as noisy as anything, or be painful after half hour riding, yet you cant take them back! Its wrong. What else cant you take back and do you think its reasonable? |

Ear plugs! Apparently my ear wax just ain't good enough for some people and the shop don't think they can re-sell them
![]() EDIT: Really should point out that I'm not claiming this is particularly unreasonable ![]() |

Saw in MCN yesterday that Lazer helmets are going to be giving certain dealers "Test Ride" helmets, so you can take them out and try them without having to buy it first. Seems like a good(ish) idea, but with lots of scope for little scrotes to run off with them....

Most stuff. When i brought my textile trousers, I asked the guy in the shop the returns policy. He gave me a blank look and asked what I ment. I said, if I want to return them, incase I find them uncomfortable when riding or whatever. He said if im not happy, then he wont sell them, kin of agressivly. I brought them anyway because i wanted them, but didnt have peace of mind that I could return them and get my money back incase I didnt get on with them
Same with everything, most places dont want you to bring stuff back if you are unhappy with it despite it being ok. If I ran a bike shop, I would allow my customers 2 weeks to test their purchase, and if they dont like it, bring it back. With helmets i would get an xray machine in so I could analyse, just to make sure they didnt drop it and damage it. Matt |

I tend not to have a problem taking things back (obviously I wouldn't try to return underwear etc)
I hate shopping and trying on stuff in the dressing rooms, so I normally just grab what I think may fit me take it home, try it at my leisure then return it at my leisure. |
