Hello folks,
![]() Been browsing your forum for a few days now and i have found it very informative. Bought a black curvy SV 650 2001 on Saturday (first big bike) and i am waiting for the shop to prepare it for collection. Its standard apart from a clear double bubble screen. Hopefully i will get it before it starts peeing down and get some miles under the belt. Only passed my test last week ![]() I know very little about mechanics etc but i am hoping to at least do my own oil and filter change ![]() Anyway thanks for reading I hope to learn from you all, perhaps even meet up on a ride out once i have got the hang of the bike ![]() Cheers DAN ps: Sorry if i posted this in the wrong place |

Na your fine, right place for intro, Welcome to the board.
if I'm not mistaken isn't your location Birmingham way ? Plenty of peeps on here to help you with spannering and if you meet up with some of the locals perhaps some help as well* how long have you been riding then ? Good luck. * some even know what they are doing as well ![]() ![]() Cheers Mark.

Hi, yes im about 30 miles south of Birmingham, I actually work in Brierley Hill/Dudley so I go up that way almost daily.
I started out in 1996 on a Debia Senda 50cc then I took the car route at 17. I really wanted a bike and car but being a scrounging student i couldnt afford both. In January this year I decided it was time to get back into it, i bought a Yamaha DTX 125 and quickly got bored. I kept it about three months and sold it on. Then made an impulse buy on a 97 cbr 600 (It was too good to miss, honest!!) much to the disgust of the girlfriend. I ended up selling that and taking direct access this month. Passed that little beauty and opted for a more sensible beginner bike the SV. And so it begins........again |
