There used to be a bloke in Beswick, M'cr that hadn't been out of his house for several years. The reason? He couldn't get through the door!
He would fall over in his house every week or so and call for the fire brigade to get him up. Every now and then, if the Fire dibble only had one crew, they would call for help from us. New sprogs were sent over to make up the ten man team needed to shift the guy back into his chair.
The house, as you can imagine was less than sanitary, but the thing that really depressed me, apart from seeing my hands dissapear into a folds of sweaty man flab, was the fella scoffing a king size mars bar in three gob fulls after we got him up. It's all he ate. He refused help from the doctors social services sent around and died alone.

The fire at the crem took three days to go out......

He had one of those emergency buttons around his neck.

Dunno about the food, I guess the neighbours, in a really big truck!

I bet his neck was wider than my waist! Imagine living on the floor below! I'd never sleep!

'what's that creaking...'

Drain on society.

I look down on people like that more than I do perverts and murderers. At least they pay taxes and contribute to society SLIGHTLY instead of just sitting around all day and eating / watching Oprah.
