Having my bike stolen from my house has been a big blow to me but now since having made the claim, I m trying to get a quote from other insurers and its been a nightmare. most of them asking a rediculous amount for a 3rd party fire and theft policy. which some times is as expensive as the motorbike I intend to buy!!
![]() I am in a Catch 22, can someone help me with ideas of a cheap insurer!! |

Claiming for a theft outside your own house is bound to make insurance for theft at the same house major amounts of £££
Maybe take third party only insurance, the chances of a fire are minimal and you will just have to be careful where you leave your bike. |

get some internet quotes first then wait for the call centres to call with a sublimentary follow up call - usually works out cheaper.
Used www.gocompare.com to get my quote off Motorcycle Direct who then phoned me up 20mins later and knocked a further £20 off the internet price.. sometimes it pays off, others it dont.. |

As you had a bike nicked from your house, then your premium is going to go up...its unavoidable really.
Personally i wouldn't put a new bike where the old one was, as its likely to go missing as well. Either really beef up the security, which will deter scrotes, but if the pros want it, it doesnt matter what you have. Best bet is a locked, secure garage or shed. |

With a rancor...
![]() Some insurers offer discounts if you store your bike with fictional monsters...

try gocompare.com - they were miles cheaper than the bigger guys when I had a previous part fault claim - about £85 for the same policy (same underwriter) that bennetts were offering for over £200.
