On a serious note, are there any people here with kids, who are having problems with the afor mentioned little gits.
Every weekend we(my wife)spends an hour going through our daughters hair to remove them,152 today. Why?School tomorrow and I know that she'll only get more while she's there. Are they just getting tougher or do you think that some parents just dont bother. ![]() |

Not had to deal with them for a little while now although it wa almost every week that they had to be removed from my daughters hair. Er head lice live on the head and crans aka pubic lice live in that region? ![]()

There was a girl in my daughters class a couple of years ago who seemed to have them constantly and every so often my daughter would get them off her (I assume).
I found that Prioderm works a treat, also use a knit come with conditioner in the hair. |

i work in a school and can honestly say its down to the parents not checking. when my daughter was at primary school it was a friday ritual to get the comb out and conditioner. schools are not allowed to send child home for having them. their education is more important. this is why half our school had hand foot and mouth last month, not allowed to exclude sufferer if they feel ok. madness.
i didnt like using the chemicals as they were used in the gulf war (not for headlice I dont think) the best combs to get are the bright coloured ones. the metal ones make it hard to see the beasts. most shampoos etc are useless so dont waste your money. get a leave in conditioner (t tree if you can, they dont like the smell) and tie kids hair back. its a lot of rubbish about them only liking clean hair. but hair coated in conditioner or grease makes it harder for the beasts to hang on. and get your child to brush their hair a lot, at break, lunch time, home time etc it disturbs them. they hide at nape of neck and behind the ears. good luck Last edited by kitkat; 04-11-07 at 01:47 PM. |

They're endemic in the South - particularly Somerset, where I believe it is still common practice in the winter to sew children into woollen underwear coated with goose grease.
